Sooners stop Cowboys’ streak

Mizzou holds off Iowa State in double OT

? Tony Crocker scored a career-high 25 points, and Oklahoma snapped Oklahoma State’s five-game winning streak in a Bedlam rivalry game loaded with NCAA Tournament implications for both teams.

With leading scorer Blake Griffin out following right knee surgery, Crocker picked up the slack by scoring 14 points in the first half.

Byron Eaton, who averaged 20.6 points during the win streak to direct the Cowboys (16-13, 7-8 Big 12) back into postseason contention, hit two free throws to cut the deficit to nine with 5:41 left, but OSU could get no closer.

Longar Longar scored 10 of his 12 points in the first half as the Sooners spoiled senior-night festivities for Marcus Dove and Tyler Hatch and most likely the Cowboys’ NCAA Tournament hopes, too.

No Big 12 team ever has made the NCAAs with eight conference losses.

Missouri 81, Iowa State 75 (2OT)

Columbia, Mo. – DeMarre Carroll had a career-high 26 points and eight rebounds and scored six points in the second overtime of Missouri’s victory over Iowa State.

Leo Lyons added 19 points and nine rebounds for Missouri (16-14, 5-9), which won its home finale in a half-full Mizzou Arena.

Iowa State had won its previous two games at Missouri, but hasn’t won three in a row since 1965-67.

Texas A&M 71, Baylor 57

Waco, Texas – Texas A&M gave its NCAA Tournament hopes a big boost.

Josh Carter and Donald Sloan scored 17 points apiece as the Aggies avenged a five-overtime loss in College Station on Jan. 23.

DeAndre Jordan grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked six shots for the Aggies (22-8, 8-7 Big 12), who won for the second time in six games after losing their last two road games by 27 points.
