University Bridge Club announces results of its June 21 meeting. Hosts were John and Jane Golden and Paul and Carolyn Jordan. Blue winners were Al Smith, first; Willie Stoltenberg, second; Ray Ikenberry, third; Alice Akin, fourth; and Darlene Schneider, fifth. Pink winners were Myrna Ikenberry, first; Mary Jo Spotts, second; Carolyn Harden, third; Lois Liebert, fourth; and Carol Smith, fifth.

¢Kansas State Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood 106th annual convention was June 6-8 in Wichita. The theme for the convention was “P.E.O._ A Pattern for Living.” Members from Lawrence chapters who attended the convention include: Dru Sampson, GQ; Julie Coots, JC; Heather Krase-Minnick, JP; Jodi Trast, IK; Francis Lintecum, AZ; Sue Morgan, HZ; Tracy Saenz, FZ; Anne Jarboe, JJ; and Jana Tuttle, CW.

Other activities included a “Golden Girl” luncheon honoring 50-year members, and the election and installation of officers.

¢The Wednesday Afternoon Bride Club’s game on June 11 was directed by Chris Lane. The North-South players were led by Wanda Durbin and Suzanne Wassmer, with Harry Shaffer and Jeane Landry placing second. Kent McCullough and Ed Howard were third.

The East-West players were led by Virginia Seaver and Madelyn Jenks, with Grant Sutton and Catherine Blumenfeld placing second. Paul Heitzman and David Piro were third.

¢The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club’s game on June 18 was directed by Chris Lane. The North-South players were led by Mary Fenlon and Lester Dalton, with Klee Zaricky and Betty Collier placing second. Eleanor Patton and Ed Howard were third in A and Martie Hartman and Bobbie Figgins placed second in B.

The East-West players were led by David Piro and Paul Heitzman, with Cathy Blumenfeld and Grant Sutton placing second. Shirley Reese and Virginia Seaver were third in A and Craig Huneke and Jeff Mermin placed second in B.

¢The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on June 13 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South players were led by Lester Dalton and Mary Fenlon, with Harry Shaffer and Grant Sutton placing second. Bobby Patton and Eleanor Patton were third.

The East-West players were led by Ed Howard and John Fittell, with David Piro and Paul Heitzman placing second. Gladys Baim and Madelyn Jenks were third.

¢The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on June 20 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South players were led by Harry Shaffer and Ed Howard, with Kent McCullough and John Fittell placing second. Chris Lane and Shirley Reese were third in A and Vince Nordberg and Jim Stewart placed first in C.

The East-West players were led by Virginia Seaver and Klee Zaricky, with Eldon Herd and Sally Taylor placing second. Mona Bell and Madelyn Jenks were third in A and Grant Sutton and Craig Huneke placed second in C.

¢The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on June 16 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South players were led by Vince Nordberg and Steven Phelps, with Harry Shaffer and Terry Tolar placing second. Julia Dalton and Lester Dalton were third.

The East-West players were led by Pat Musick and Jolene Andersen, with Jerry Sloan and Virginia Seaver placing second. David Leitch and Steve Vossler were third.

¢The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on June 23 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North South players were led by Klee Zaricky and Virginia Seaver, with James Masilamani and Donna Johnson placing second. Harry Shaffer and Grant Sutton were third in A and Clyde Romer and Steven Phelps placed first in B.

The East-West players were led by Craig Huneke and Jim Stewart, with John Fittell and Adelaide Nyquist placing second. David Piro and Brian Barrett were third.
