Senior Gold: Neil Brown, Peter Carleton and Jonathan Paretsky of Lawrence earned gold medals at the Salina Senior Games, Brown and Paretsky in table tennis and Carleton in weight-lifting. Also, Kevin Carr captured a silver and a bronze in table tennis.

¢ Rivals Champs: Lawrence Rivals ninth-grade boys basketball won MAYB tournaments in Bonner Springs and Lawrence. Team members are Kameron Sharp, Ian Zylstra, Brett Frantz, KJ Pritchard, Steve Allen, Drew Johnson, Cameron Dabney, Tyler Thomas, Lamond Shelby and Logan Henrichs.

¢ Anderson Winner: Chris Anderson fired a par 72 and won the Jayhawk Golf Club weekly tournament Sunday at Alvamar, edging Chad Welter by a stroke. Drew Walters was third with a 76. In net scoring, Pete Whitenight and Robert Ward were low, each with a 71. Jack Schwartz had a 72.

¢ Thunder Takes Third: Lawrence U-12 Thunder finished third in the USSSA State Fastpitch Tournament last weekend in Shawnee. Team members are Meredith Morris, Olivia Loney, Morgan Knapp, Hailey Cope, Kristen Gile, Evan Dye, Remington Samuels, Kaitlin Dunbar, Elizabeth Seimears, Jamie Maddox, Madeline Dieker and Sami Buffalomeat. Coaches are Bret Morris, Mike Maddox and Robert Knapp.

¢ Red Storm Trials: Tryouts for Kansas Red Storm U-13 baseball team will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at SCABA Pony Field in Topeka. For information, call 550-1473.

¢ Hurst Hole-in-One: Chris Hurst used a 9-iron to ace the 85-yard No. 8 hole Thursday at the Orchards Golf Course . Witness was Allisa Hurst.

¢ Pritchett Hole-in-One: Terry Pritchett used a sand wedge to ace the 85-yard No. 8 hole Tuesday at the Orchards. Witnesses were Keith Casey and Walton Ski.
