Lecompton farmer leads Angus group

Bryce Schumann, Lecompton, has been named chief executive officer of the American Angus Association, based in St. Joseph, Mo.

Schumann has been working for the association since 2000, when he started as director of activities. He became director of member services a year later and, in addition to his CEO title, Schumann continues to serve as director of member services and office management.

The association, considered the country’s largest beef registry association, has more than 30,000 adult and junior members. The association works to provide programs, services, technology and leadership to enhance the genetics of the Angus breed, broaden its influence within the beef industry and expand the market for Angus beef worldwide.
