Olathe ? Free State High girls bowling team won a triangular Friday, and the Firebirds placed second in the boys competition.

Bailey Carlson led the FSHS girls with a 525 series, followed by Christina Picicci with 510, and Tyler Kring led the Free State boys with 635, followed by Alex Hardman with 627.

“The varsity girls did a really fine job today,” FSHS coach Anita Carlson said. “They pulled together as a team, and it was exciting to see that.”

Next competition for Free State is Tuesday at Oskaloosa.
