The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department has launched a new Web site focusing on local health issues.

The department today launched ldchealth.org to give residents a better understanding of what the Health Department offers to the community, department director Dan Partridge said.

The Web site will include links and forms for activities ranging from installing a septic system in the county to becoming a licensed child care facility. The site includes information about the department’s health clinic operations, flu shot programs and agendas and minutes for the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Board.

Future upgrades to the Web site will include client interviews and an interactive body mass index calculator.
