From the Lawrence Daily World for Feb. 18, 1908: “The athletic board of KU has approved the following 1908 fall schedule for the Jayhawker aggregation next fall: William Jewell, Emporia, Ottawa, Manhattan, Oklahoma, Iowa, Washburn, Nebraska, Washington ad Missouri. The two games of importance which are new to the schedule are Iowa and Washington of St. Louis. The Washington game is a substitution for the St. Louis University game last fall, after which there was ugliness with the Catholic aggregation. : Fire caused damage to the Lyric Theater building at 736 Mass. this afternoon after starting in the Cash Stationery quarters.”
