University Bridge Club bridge announces results of its Jan. 26 meeting. Hosts were Paul and Carolyn Jordan.

Blue winners were Dale Kring, first; John Golden, second; Roy Cropp, third; Tom Waller, fourth; and Al Smith, fifth.

Pink winners were Wanda Kring, first; Cathy Waller, second; Darlene Schneider, third; Virginia Williams, fourth; and Myrna Ikenberry, fifth.

¢The Knights of Columbus District No. 18, Lawrence and Eudora, announces the results of the Tootsie Roll drive to help those with intellectual disabilities. The event on Oct. 12-14 raised $3,273.34.

Eighty percent of the proceeds from Council 1372, St. John the Evangelist, will go to Cottonwood Inc. and the ARC of Douglas County.

Eighty percent of the proceeds from Council 12932, Holy Family, will go to Cottonwood Inc.

Eighty percent of the proceeds from Council 12960, Corpus Christi, will go to the Douglas County Gators and the Wyandotte County Bears, Special Olympic teams.

The remaining 20 percent will be donated to the Special Olympics Basketball Tournament in Hays on March 13-15.

¢The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club’s game Jan. 23 was directed by Chris Lane. The North-South players were led by Chris Lane and Mona Bell at first in A and B, with Virginia Seaver and Madelyn Jenks in second A. Gladys Baim and Adelaide Nyquist placed third in A, second in B and first in C, while Wanda Durbin and Suzanne Wassmer were fourth in A.

The East-West players were led by Catherine Blumenfeld and Grant Sutton with first in A, B and C with Nita Scales and Shari Krentzel at second in A, B and C. Marilyn Martin and Clarice Broz were third in A, B and C.

The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club’s game Jan. 25 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South players were led by Chris Lane and Virginia Seaver, with Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough placing second. Shirley Reese and Klee Zaricky placed third in A and first in B, while David Piro and Paul Heitzman placed fourth.

The East-West players were led by Lynn Hui and Catherine Blumenfeld at first in A, B and C, followed by Don Daugherty and Harry Talley at second in A, B and C. Nita Scales and Ann Thompson were third in A, B and C.

The Monday Evening Bridge Club’s game Jan. 28 had 11 tables and was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South players were led by Jerry Sloan and Emily Foster, with Grant Sutton and Vince Nordberg at second in A, first in B and C. Shirley Reese and Chris Lane were third in A and second in B, followed by Harry Shaffer and Jambo Zhang. Marti Hartman and Patricia Burgstahler placed fifth in A, third in B and second in C.

The East-West players were led by Julia Dalton and Mary Fenlon, with Paul Heitzman and Donna Johnson placing second. Jeremy Martin and Jim Stewart were third in A and first in B and C. Peter Petillo and David Piro placed fourth in A, with Ed Howard and Adelaide Nyquist placing fifth. Terry Tolar and Lynn Hui were second in B and C.
