Terranova Titlist: Mark Terranova and Bud Stagg each fired a 74, but Terranova won a scorecard playoff in Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club weekly tournament at Alvamar. Chad Welter was third with a 75. In net scoring, Jeff Brooks was low with a 68, followed by Randy Gebhards 69 and William Patt 70.

lNight Golf: The Orchards Golf Course is having a Night Golf event Saturday, Aug. 23. The nine-hole event starts at 9 p.m. and includes the first 52 golfers to sign up. Entry fee of $25 gets golfer lighted golf balls and bracelets.

¢ Double-eagle at LCC: Greg Sharp achieved the rare golf feat known as an “albatross” when he scored a double-eagle 2 on the par-5 No. 3 hole at Lawrence Country Club on Sunday, Aug. 10, in the second day of the club championship won by Chris Hutchens. Sharp used a 4-iron from 207 yards to make the shot. Golf World estimates there are 40,000 holes-in-one per year and “a couple hundred” double-eagles.

¢ Tough Cowpoke: The Lucky Spur Saddle Club of Oskaloosa on Oct. 25 will play host to a Tough Cowpoke Contest. It will be an obstacle course made up of ranch and trail situtations that will test both rider and horse. A flier and entry form can be found at http://www.luckyspursaddleclub.
