Wallace, N.C. ? Walt Koelbel and Zach Pederson each shot 74 to lead the Kansas University men’s golf team during the first round of the River Landing Intercollegiate. KU opened up with a first-round 299 at the River Course at River Landing and is tied for 12th place after day one.

“We played decent today on a pretty good golf course,” said head coach Kit Grove. “We made some mistakes on the last few holes, which really hurts our final number.”

The second round will begin at 7 this morning.
