Kids Fall Festival is Sunday at Hy-Vee
Stan Slaughter, also known as the “EcoTroubadour,” will be the featured attraction during the Hy-Vee Kids Fall Festival, set for noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Hy-Vee, 4000 W. Sixth St.
Slaughter, an award-winning environmental educator and musician, will teach children about the value of composting, worms and other matters during 15-minute “Singing for the Earth” segments during the festival.
Also featured: Richard Britt, owner of Manhattan-based Britt Farms, which provides the store with home-grown produce, including pumpkins.
The festival will include pumpkin-decorating workshops, face painting and a number of food demonstrations.
