City commissioners unanimously agreed to grant a special use permit for an expansion of Bishop Seabury Academy, 4120 Clinton Parkway.

The permit will for the construction of a 7,043-square-foot expansion of the school. The expansion is designed to provide more classroom space for existing students. It also will include an upgrade to the school’s parking lot. But Bishop Seabury leaders said as part of the permit application that the expansion is not being designed to significantly increase the school’s enrollment.

Commissioners approved the permit after hearing no objections from the public.
