From the Lawrence Daily World for Oct. 3, 1907: “Old soldiers holding their reunion here today were driven inside by bad weather and the crowds were nowhere near as big as had been expected. R.H. Campbell spoke on patriotism for an hour and then our W.R. Stubbs spoke on the same subject. Almost all rural people were kept at home by rain and mud. : More than 200 Kansas photographers will gather here next week for their annual state meeting and a great deal of photographic excellence will be on display for the public.”
