The annual Weigh-in for United Way fundraiser, which took place Oct. 22-25, raised $1,690.

Residents of Baldwin City and Eudora contributed their spare change in a competition to see which community could raise the most pounds of money.

The final collection took place at the annual Baldwin City-Eudora football game on Oct. 25 at Baker University. The trophy was awarded to Baldwin City for collecting 640 pounds of coins. Eudora accumulated 418 pounds of coins.

Proceeds from this event will go toward the 2007-2008 United Way of Douglas County campaign.
