Jets take down Titans with big fifth inning (5-17-07)

The Titans and Jets were all tied up at Youth Sports Inc. Thursday before the Jets took off with a five-run fifth inning to score an 8-3 victory.

The Jets’ Michael Heschmeyer led off the deciding inning with a double and scored on a passed ball to give his team a 4-3 lead. Noah Huston later doubled, stole third and scored on a Tripp Wright ground-out. Parker Kirkpatrick knocked in the final run of the inning to make it 8-3.

Nate Hulse of the Titans hit an RBI double in the first that plated his team’s only run in the game’s first four innings. The Titans scored twice more in the top of the fifth. Zak McCallister hit an RBI single and later scored on a Collin McKee groundout.
