Electricity takes care of Hot Tamales (LGFPA 5-21-07)

The Hot Tamales and Electricity battled Monday night at Holcom Park.

Electricity pitcher Meagan Dexter struck out the first three batters to

start the game and the Electricity scored a run on a wild pitch in the

bottom of the inning. Wild pitches by Hot Tamales starter Taylor Augustine

enabled the Electricity to score three more runs over the next two innings

to take a four-run lead into the fourth inning of play.

While Augustine struggled with her command on the mound, Dexter continued

her dominance and didn’t allow a hit ball to get out of the infield. The

Electricity tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the fourth and took a

commanding eight-run lead.

Trailing by eight runs, the Hot Tamales loaded the bases in the top of the

fifth and Augustine scored a run on a hit batsman. The Hot Tamales scored

another run in the inning, but it was not nearly enough as the Electricity

cruised to an 8-2 victory.
