A tradition that was canceled in more turbulent times returned to the Kansas University campus in a climate of peace accented by the pleasant tones of the campanile bells. Nearly 200 people watched as KU Chancellor Gene Budig, a colonel in the Air Force Reserve, reviewed cadets from the university’s three ROTC units, once under fire from critics at the height of anti-Vietnam protests.
