City commissioners will hear from a group of residents who want all parks in the city maintained without the use of pesticides.

Background

The city has been maintaining Watson Park for nearly two years without the use of pesticides to test the effectiveness of banning pesticide use in parks. There are 33 other smaller parks where the city does not use pesticides. Pesticides are part of the maintenance program in 18 city parks.

j.) Award bid for one mini packer refuse truck for the Public Works Department to Roy Conley for $73,705.

k.) Award bid for one rear load refuse truck for the Public Works Department to Roy Conley for $159,174.

i.) Approve purchase of 2,236 bicycle helmets for the Fire & Medical Department Wheeled Sports Program from Helmets R Us Inc. for $17,043.60.
