California ? A light earthquake struck in the mountains of Central California on Thursday, but there were no immediate reports of injury or damage.

The quake at 9:17 p.m. CST had a preliminary magnitude of 4.7 and was centered about 114 miles east of Sacramento, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Calls inquiring about the temblor were pouring in at the sheriff’s department, but no injuries or damage were immediately reported, a dispatcher said.
