The quake at 9:17 p.m. CST had a preliminary magnitude of 4.7 and was centered about 114 miles east of Sacramento, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Calls inquiring about the temblor were pouring in at the sheriff’s department, but no injuries or damage were immediately reported, a dispatcher said.
