With well-wishers crowding into an overflowing courtroom, Mike Malone was officially installed as Douglas County’s new district judge. Malone, 34, had officially resigned as district attorney, an elective post, and had become the fourth judge in the 7th Judicial District, consisting of Douglas County. He had been appointed to the newly created post on June 22 by Gov. John Carlin.
