The Black Jack Battlefield Trust has scheduled two public meetings next week to outline plans for Battlefield Park east of Baldwin City.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday, the meeting will be at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt. At 7 p.m. Wednesday, the meeting will be at the Baldwin City Public Library.

The meetings are designed to inform the public about the interpretive plan and conceptual program for the development of the park. John Milner & Associates is developing the plans and preparing the nomination for listing Black Jack as a national landmark.

Representatives of the National Park Service, the Kansas State Historical Preservation Office and the Kansas State Department of Commerce, Travel and Tourism Division, as well as city and county officials, will attend.
