Job well done

To the editor:

Lawrence is indebted to Mike Rundle for 12 years of principled leadership - the hallmark of which has been a consistent dedication to preserving those qualities that continue to make this a unique place to live. Given the unending onslaught of special interests, intent on snatching as many subsidized dollars from the taxpaying public as possible, his service is that much more remarkable.

Unfortunately the reward for this exemplary stewardship has been increasingly shrill and despicable personal attacks by those brave souls too cowardly to put their names where their pens are.

Lawrence will remain a wonderful place to call home only so long as we are able to persuade outstanding leaders of Mike's ilk to stand for public office notwithstanding the treachery of the faceless character assassins.

The next time you have a chance, say thanks to Mike for a job well done.

Thanks alot Mike.

Now how many years will it take for us to reverse your gay, secular, socialist, progressive agendas?

You have been one of the worst city leaders in the entire history of Lawrence.

That is your legacy.

ha ha ha ha !

"Given the unending onslaught of special interests, intent on snatching as many subsidized dollars from the taxpaying public " this quote is from the letter above.

EXCUSE ME???? WHO does this guy think Rundle represented???? Mike is all about special interest. certainly not about the entire community, just those extreme left splinter groups who had their hands in his pockets. Figuritively speaking.

"Mike is all about special interest."

Quit the juvenile school-yard attempts at argument, consumer1. Rundle certainly did represent a shift away from the control of the city commission by special interests. Throwing the charge of "special interests" at him merely shows that you don't understand what it means, and as such it's a meaningless taunt.

Bozo, you words are like "gas" in the wind. Your feeble attempt to intimidate others with your stupidity fails miserably, much like the rest of your life i am sure. You like to call names a wish you were intelligent. Much like the size of your manhood, I am sure it leaves you wanting for more. Enjoy your insecurities. Con1

thanks Mr. Rundle, great job.

Just a note, to those that think hate remarks represent their best thoughts, they are probably right. It takes practice and concentration to make an argument rather than creepy sidewinding slurs. If you have no personal honor in your discourse you hurt your community. Mike helped this town.

"Enjoy your insecurities."

No time-- I'm too busy enjoying yours.

Thanks Mike-for not running again. Your first term as Commissioner was a good one. You should have stopped there. You have become an immature, petty and bitter individual and you don't think for yourself but rather for your "friends."
I really wish you luck in your future endeavors. I hope you find happiness and fulfillment away from the pressures of being a public servant.
