Fire consumes rural shed
Rural firefighters have problems with icy roads
Rural firefighters on Tuesday afternoon battled a blaze at a metal shed northwest of Lawrence.
The fire happened around 4 p.m. in the 1700 block of East 1100 Road. The Wakarusa, Willow Springs, Eudora Township, Lecompton and Kanwaka fire departments all responded – though with some difficulty in traversing icy back roads. Gravel trucks were called in to help make the roads passable.
No injuries were reported.
