Hoch asked for no speechmaking and for people to get right to work. : The pure food law is not being enforced here as strictly as it should be and it appears bad food is causing many illnesses. Preservatives should be listed and false weights should be reported to authorities. : The Union Pacific Railroad has done nothing to comply with the orders of the city council to provide some sort of danger signal at the North Lawrence crossing, where Ward Williams was killed.”
