Deadline approaches for Chamber event

Today’s registration deadline for the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming annual meeting is being extended into early next week, but organizers are urging interested attendees to sign up soon.

The program, they say, is that good.

The meeting, with a theme of “20/20 Vision,” is set for 6 p.m. Jan. 19 and will include presentations of the annual Citizen of the Years and Athena awards, plus a new Ambassador of the Year Award.

But it is the formal program – “The Art of Vision,” featuring San Diego-based consultant Erik Wahl – that will have attendees looking to the future, said Cathy Lewis, the chamber’s vice president for membership.

“Erik’s unique presentation will tap into our creativity and insight and will inspire us to continue our work toward a unified vision for Lawrence,” she said.
