Wyoming investigates brawl with N. Mexico

? The University of Wyoming is conducting an inquiry into the fight that broke out during the Wyoming-New Mexico basketball game Tuesday night in Albuquerque.

Two Wyoming players and one New Mexico player were ejected because of the brawl.

“We are in the process of reviewing all of the available video evidence surrounding the events of last night’s game at New Mexico,” Wyoming athletic director Tom Burman said in a statement released by the university Wednesday.

Burman said UW and the conference “hope to have reviewed all of the information by Thursday, and we don’t anticipate any announcement prior to that.”

The fight occurred with 1:10 left to go in the contest. New Mexico was victorious in the contest, 91-83.

It began when Wyoming guard Brandon Ewing, the leading scorer in the league, became entangled with New Mexico guard Jamaal Smith.

As players from both teams converged, Wyoming’s Brandon Jones shoved New Mexico’s J.R. Giddens, and Smith threw a punch at Jones.
