Jefferson County ? Residents of Nortonville in Jefferson County are under a boil-water advisory.

The water system was drained by firefighters battling a fire, which could allow contaminants into the system. Until water-sample testing indicates no evidence of contamination, residents are advised to dispose of all ice cubes, to boil water for one minute before drinking or using in food preparation and to disinfect dishes by immersing them in tap water with a small amount of bleach.

If the tap water appears dirty, flush the water by letting it run until clear.
