The local Warm Hearts drive to raise $25,000 to help people in need pay heating bills during winter emergencies had topped $15,000 after only about 10 days of campaigning. Drive leaders said they were confident the goal could be reached and that Lawrence would work with state officials in their effort to protect residents who have financial problems because of heating costs.
