University Women’s Club announces events

The University Women’s Club was founded in 1900 and in 1915 began KU’s longest continuous scholarship program. The club welcomes colleagues and spouses across our extended KU family. Sept. 6: Sign-up luncheon for members and prospective new members, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Malott room, Kansas Union.

Sept. 14: New member luncheon, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Chancellor’s residence.

Oct. 4: “Prominent Women in Journalism,” Ann Brill, dean, School of Journalism.

Nov. 1: “Helping at Home, Helping Abroad: A Woman’s Role in Charitable Activities,” Elizabeth Alex, NBC Action News Anchor.

Dec. 6: Lawrence Children’s Choir, Janeal Crabb Krehbiel, director.

Feb. 7: “Making History: Women Who Are Changing the World,” Antonia Felix, local author. Book signing to follow.

March 6: “The Gender Differential: Women in Politics,” Diana Carlin, Council of Graduate Schools, Washington, D.C.

April 3: “Preparing Students for the Global Economy and the Flat World,” Richard Lariviere, KU provost.
