NASA clears shuttle for liftoff today
Florida ? Mission managers declared shuttle Endeavour and its seven astronauts ready for today’s blastoff – a launch that will carry teacher Barbara Morgan into space.
Liftoff of the second shuttle flight of the year is scheduled for 5:37 p.m. CDT from the Kennedy Space Center in Central Florida. The weather forecast is promising and no mechanical glitches were reported.
During the 14-day mission, the crew will deliver cargo to the International Space Station and attach a new component to the orbiting laboratory.
