From the Lawrence Daily World for April 15, 1907: "Fire at Baldwin between midnight and 1 a.m. today destroyed the Rippey building at Baker University. It was the newest building at Baker, costing $50,000 about four years ago. The contents valued at $10,000 and the building, $50,000, are a total loss. : The Kansas Supreme Court has upheld the attorney general's injunctions against operation of breweries in Kansas and this is regarded as the greatest victory yet for enforcement of our prohibitory laws. Two local Pabst breweries are among the nine enjoined by the state. : The Myers Pump Co. is seeking a new location and is considering Lawrence.
