From the Lawrence Daily World for April 2, 1907: “The fifth annual exhibition of paintings by American artists opened at the university yesterday and promises to be one of the most popular shows ever held here. Lawrence artists and artists who formerly lived here will have their work displayed. : The election today on the $40,000 school bond issue is producing only a medium vote but the good news is that a large percentage of the turnout is made up of women.”
