City band to help celebrate birthday
Lawrence City Band will provide a special concert in recognition of the city’s 152nd birthday. The concert is set for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at South Park.
The Billy Spears Band will kick off the celebration at 5 p.m. with a concert at the William Kelly Bandstand. The Lawrence City Band will follow with a performance at 6 p.m. There will be several guest performers, including Mayor Mike Amyx, The Four Horsemen Barbershop Quartet, and Dixieland music featuring Clyde Bysom and John Weatherwax.
