Agencies that serve community’s needs
United Way of Douglas County assists several agencies that address basic needs in addition to the dental clinic. They are:
¢ American Red Cross, 2518 Ridge Court, provides disaster relief, assistance to military and their families and training in areas such as CPR.
¢ Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., 200 Maine, Suite C, offers care to frail, ill or disabled persons to enable them to remain independent in their homes.
¢ Health Care Access Clinic, 1920 Moodie Road, provides health care services for residents with limited financial means.
¢ Hospice Care in Douglas County, 200 Maine, Suite C, supports individuals and their families when people are in the final phases of terminal illness.
¢ Penn House, 1035 Pa., provides services for low-income families.
¢ The Salvation Army, 946 N.H., offers crisis intervention.
