A pit bull chased a cat into a home Saturday morning in the 1500 block of Delaware Street, attacked it and killed it, according to a police report.

The cat’s 39-year-old owner tried to break up the attack but couldn’t. The cat, Zelda, was dead when officers arrived at the home.

Police took the dog to the Lawrence Humane Society. As of Thursday, the owner of the dog had not been identified.
