Douglas County commissioners today will once again take up the Lecompton bridge repair project.

Commissioners will prepare a response to a letter sent last week by Jefferson County. In that letter, Jefferson County said it would not challenge Douglas County if it still wanted to take over the project. Jefferson County, however, said it would not provide money for incentives to contractors.

The meeting agenda also includes:

¢ Consider approving Community Corrections Act application for 2006 unexpended funds.

¢ Consider Emergency Management Department’s performance grant request for Homeland Security funds.

¢ Consider a vehicle purchase.

On the consent agenda, commissioners will:

¢ Consider approval of distribution of ad valorem taxes.

¢ Consider a waiver of purchasing policy for handling mailings of tax statements.

¢ Consider awarding a bid for fiber optic cabling.

Commissioners also are expected to proclaim this week Douglas County Disabilities Employment Week.
