Kansas University’s Dole Institute of Politics has added five events to its fall lineup. They are:

¢ “Walking the Line: When and How Should Courts Override Legislatures,” with Richard Epstein, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17. Epstein, a conservative legal scholar, is an author and professor of law at the University of Chicago and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.

¢ The Muncy Journalism and Politics Lecture with Neal Shapiro, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24. Shapiro was president of NBC News from 2001-05.

¢ A lecture by Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Ben Cramer, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1. Cramer is a journalist and author of numerous books, including “What It Takes,” about the 1988 presidential election. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1979 for coverage on the Middle East.

¢ A lecture by Edward Humes, author of “Over Here: How the G.I. Bill Transformed the American Dream,” 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9.

Humes won the Pulitzer Prize in 1989 for his coverage of the military.

¢ “The Last Dance: Why the Romance Between the Religious Right and American Conservatism May Be Over,” a lecture by Darryl Hart, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16. Hart is director of Partnered Projects at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.
