Senator named business ‘guardian’

U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., recently earned a familiar title – Guardian of Small Business – for yet another year, courtesy of the National Federation of Independent Businesses.

The federation recognized Roberts for his votes during the 109th Congress in support of issues important to owners of small businesses. The federation singled out his support for the Health Insurance Marketplace Modernization Act, which fell short of approval by the full Senate but still has Roberts’ support.

Roberts has received the designation each year since 1981.
