Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 17, 1906: “It was a great day for Kansans in Lincoln as the Kansas Jayhawkers cleaned up Nebraska in football by a score of 8 to 6. All the scoring was done in the first half and then great defensive efforts resulted. KU had sent its band and some 400 rooters were on hand to celebrate the big occasion. A big greeting is planned for when the team returns to Lawrence. It now has a 6-1-1 record but the victory is rated easily the most important of the season.”
