A top Kansas Republican official said former Gov. Robert Bennett was not serious when he mentioned former Kansas University Chancellor Archie Dykes as a potential GOP gubernatorial candidate. And Dykes, reached at his Topeka insurance company office, confirmed he was not considering making the race. He said that he was flattered to have his name mentioned but that he had never considered the political field.
