LINK seeks aid for community Thanksgiving meal

Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen needs volunteers for its Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Nov. 23 at First Christian Church.

Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver meals to the homebound. LINK also needs volunteers to prepare food, serve and clean up. For more information or to sign up, call Terry Connolly between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. after Wednesday at 865-3985.

Immediate volunteer needs

¢ Brandon Woods Retirement Community seeks organizations of 10 to 12 members to decorate trees for the holidays. Volunteer groups will work Nov. 19 to decorate the facility and trees for Brandon Woods residents.

¢ The Lawrence Arts Center needs volunteers for its Children’s Holiday Shop from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 8 and 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 9. Volunteers will work as elves to accompany the children into the shop and help them choose their gifts. Volunteers also are needed to wrap gifts for the children.

¢ Lawrence Community Theatre needs volunteers for the upcoming “Seussical, the Musical” production, which opens Nov. 17 and runs through Dec. 10.

Volunteers can serve as house manager, ushers, refreshment bar staff and box office staff. Volunteers also may assist by delivering baked goods such as cookies or brownies prior to the show.

¢ The Wednesdays at Liberty Hall program seeks energetic volunteers to assist with programs serving junior high students from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays in downtown Lawrence.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of duties, including greeting students as they enter, assisting students with fun and educational projects or events, promoting events downtown, and planning and coordinating programs.

Volunteers must be available on a regular basis to assist with programs.
