Swimming season is here.

The city’s Outdoor Aquatic Center, 727 Ky., shown at right, opens at 1 p.m. today for its summer season. To celebrate the opening, the city is giving away hot dogs to the first 500 swimmers.

The pool will be open daily throughout the summer, with regular hours of 1 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the pool being renovated with money generated by the countywide 1-cent sales tax.
