State group elects, honors therapist

Carolyn Bloom, a physical therapist and owner of Bloom and Associates Therapy in Lawrence, Eudora and Topeka, was re-elected as the chief delegate representing the Kansas Physical Therapy Assn. to the American Physical Therapy Assn.’s House of Delegates, the policy-making body for the profession.

The state board also voted to rename an award the “Carolyn Bloom KPTA Lifetime Achievement Award,” in honor of her more than 30 years of service to the state and national associations, the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, Kansas University PT Education Program, Kansas Arthritis Foundation and other state health care organizations.
