Late collapse irks Bucks

Toronto finishes on 19-2 run to edge Milwaukee

? The Milwaukee Bucks collapsed and cost themselves an important game.

Chris Bosh had 27 points and 10 rebounds, and the Toronto Raptors rallied from a 16-point deficit in the final six minutes to beat the Bucks, 97-96, Friday night.

Milwaukee led, 94-78, with 5:41 left, before Toronto finished the game on a 19-2 run – capped by Bosh’s two free throws with 3.4 seconds remaining.

“Wow, I didn’t know we were up that much. I knew we were up a lot,” Milwaukee’s Michael Redd said. “It’s frustrating to lose this game, especially a game we had to have. Washington lost tonight so we could have made up ground.”

The Bucks are seventh in the Eastern Conference, 11â2 games behind Washington.

After T.J. Ford failed to get a shot off before the final buzzer, Milwaukee’s Andrew Bogut kicked the ball the length of the court in disgust.

“That’s been our story all year,” Milwaukee center Jamaal Magloire said. “We’ve been up and down, we haven’t been consistent.”

Bobby Simmons had 21 points, but just two in the fourth quarter. Redd went 1-for-6 from the field in the fourth and finished with 17 points.

“With maybe five minutes to go, I looked at Chris and said ‘Yo, Chris we gonna win this?’ I said there’s enough time, so lets keep playing,” Toronto’s Mike James said.

Toronto won despite shooting just 39 percent.

“We made something out of nothing,” Bosh said. “They gave us a little daylight, and we took it. We didn’t play nearly as good as we are capable of, but we still found a way.”

Milwaukee failed to get above .500 for the first time since Feb. 27.

Magloire, a Toronto native, had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Bucks.

Simmons and Redd capped a 12-4 run with consecutive three-pointers, giving Milwaukee a 66-56 lead with 6:07 left in the third.
