Exchange professors to be honored tonight

Two Kansas University exchange program professors will be honored tonight in Kansas City at an event celebrating international educators.

The Kansas City International Visitors Council will honor Azim Bayzoev, an Oriental Studies professor in Tajikistan, and Nigar Isgandarova, head of the English Literature and Foreign Languages at a university in Azerbaijan.

Both professors arrived at KU in January as part of a professor exchange program. They have been researching and teaching classes there this semester.

The professors will speak about their home countries, including studies, traditions and politics there at the International Visitors Council monthly Second Tuesdays at the Embassy events. The event will be at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 220 W. 43rd St. in Kansas City, Mo., and begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15.
