Actor to host screening at Haskell film festival

Wes Studi, an American Indian actor who played Magua in “The Last of the Mohicans” and Detective Casals in “Heat,” will host a 6:30 p.m. screening of “Geronimo: An American Legend,” today at Haskell Auditorium. In the movie, Studi portrays Geronimo.

The free screening, part of the second annual Stories N’ Motion Film Festival at Haskell Indian Nations University, is open to the public.

Studi, 58, is expected to field questions from audience members after the screening.

Gary Farmer, 52, an American Indian character actor, hosted a similar forum Thursday.

The following films will be shown Saturday at Haskell Auditorium:

¢ Noon, “Kiowa Country: In Search of Bigfoot.”

¢ 12:30 p.m., “Riding with Ghosts.”

¢ 2 p.m., “Fortune Cookie.”

¢ 3 p.m., Ryan Red Corn documentary on wetlands.

¢ 4 p.m., “Alcatraz is not an Island.”

¢ 5 p.m., “Trudell: The Movie.”
