Police arrested a 19-year-old Wichita man early Wednesday on suspicion of firing a gunshot at the door of a North Lawrence night club.

Officers arrested Ardale J. Stone, 19, Wichita, after being called shortly after 1:30 a.m. to Club 508, 508 Locust St. Witnesses told police that Stone, who had been inside the bar earlier in the night, fired gunshots into the air and fired a shot into the east door of the club.

Police recovered a 9 mm Ruger handgun with a defaced serial number and nine shells, according to a report. He was arrested on suspicion of charges including aggravated assault, criminal discharge of a firearm and defacing a gun’s identification marks.

Police believe Stone was under the influence of alcohol.
