Lap pool to close for swim meet
A swim meet will close the lap pool at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center for much of Saturday.
The Lawrence Aquahawks will host a swim meet at the facility, 4706 Overland Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The lap pool will be closed during those times, but other parts of the aquatic center will be open. The event will draw 450 swimmers from the Lawrence and Kansas City area.
During the competition, the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering lap swimming at the Outdoor Aquatic Center, 727 Ky.
