Turnpike widening closes part of road
A section of Douglas County Road 1029 north of Lecompton has been closed for work on an Interstate 70 bridge.
The bridge runs over 1029 a little more than three miles north of Lecompton. The road also is known as Douglas County East 600 Road. The road section will be closed until the end of the day Jan. 20.
Some county roads along the turnpike will be closed periodically as the Kansas Turnpike Authority works to widen the interstate between Topeka and the Lecompton interchange.
