Among major developments here in 1980 were the opening of the new $3 million city hall, completion of the $8.1 million Clinton Water Treatment Plant, renovation of the 1956 wing of Lawrence Memorial Hospital (containing the health department and Bert Nash Mental Health Center) and renovation of the second-floor area of the Lawrence Senior Center.
